Simulation is the imitation of some real thing, state of affairs, or process. The act of simulating something generally entails representing certain key characteristics or behaviours of a selected physical or abstract system. Simulation is used in many contexts, including the modeling of natural systems or human systems in order to gain insight into their functioning. Other contexts include simulation of technology for performance optimization, safety engineering, testing, training and education. Simulation can be used to show the eventual real effects of alternative conditions and courses of action. Key issues in simulation include acquisition of valid source information about the relevant selection of key characteristics and behaviours, the use of simplifying approximations and assumptions within the simulation, and fidelity and validity of the simulation outcomes. From Google News Search: "Simulation" How plausible is a computer simulation of the laws of the universe as we know them today? Q. With what humankind knows today of the laws of physics, is it possible or plausible to create a virtual universe that obeys the same laws we do? How great of an effect would you speculate the unknown laws have on the universe? When it comes to a functional model, how important are the little things? Could the laws be practically entered into a computer simulation that replicated our universe? Asked by redcardoor56 - Mon Aug 18 01:47:21 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. If you dont know the begining of the simulation the entire thing is flawed. All we know today is how wrong we were yesterday. So, it seems as(for the most part) there's no hope for RCT 4(Roller Coaster Tycoon 4). So I was wondering if anyone has heard of a possible new game for the PC that is a roller coaster/amusement park simulation game? Thanks! Q. I read philosopher Nick Bostrom's Simulation Argument and found it surprisingly persuasive. Can you provide an argument for why we should think it more likely than not that we live in the real physical world rather than a simulation? Asked by david e - Mon Dec 17 01:44:23 2007 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments A. I think we are, but my point of view is different. I believe we are living in a simulation where God controls everything.
