A. Multinational corporations and Globalisation are a force for evil to exploit poor people and countries, War Violence and crime are caused by inequality, poverty, desperation. These are all products of a system where a small number of people become wealthy and powerful at the expense of everyone else. Capitalism does not turn a blind eye to poverty, scarcity, and desperation. Capitalism ensures desperation exists.

Consumer rights for nondelivery of services or goods?
Q. I recently got married and put down a 50% deposit with a flower preservation company to preserve my bridal bouquet. I mailed my bouquet overnight to the company as agreed, and they acknowledged receipt. They also promised a delivery date in September, then told me in October that it would be ready by the end of the month. It's now November, and the company is ignoring my attempts to contact them for an update on my order status. I reported the company to the Better Business Bureau, and I'm wondering if anyone knows what else I can do to either 1) receive my preserved bouquet as promised or 2) get a full refund and be compensated for the bouquet (which cost over $200 itself)? I appreciate any advice you might have, as I am not sure… [cont.]

A. The Better Business Bureau is a joke. The only reason they exist is because businesses give them money to exist, while they pretend to "advocate consumers rights". I've NEVER met anybody who had a positive resolution from the BBB. You might try www.badbusinessbureau.com which allows you to report companies publicly, which might bring them to their senses. Finally, I'd take them to court, for what you think it is worth and what the boquet's actual worth is. 15 bucks gets you a small claims court summons. If they don't show, you'll probably get whatever damages you ask for.

A. Hi! I do have my business web page hosted by them, however I don't do any e-business, I just have for information about my stores like location, etc. I handle all aspects of it (design, upload, etc) and haven't had any problems regarding their service (maybe some slow upload transfer rate at times), and when I had a problem with passwords, they solved it right away, so on my experience, I do recommend them, and as you know they have good prices.

None of these answers stands out as the an obvious best answer, unless the question is related to other material that stresses one theme above others. Usually the shift to reliance on the automobile is associated with the building of the interstate highway system that was after World War II, so I dismiss option "a". Flat tax on goods and services?
Q. Since corporations dont pay taxes anyway, it is always part of pricing and passed on to the consumer, why not have a flat tax for goods and services?

A. This would be a "regressive" tax which taxed those who are least able to pay in at a higher percentage. Attempts to balance this with a "luxury" tax have failed because they unfairly punish certain industries i.e. yacht manufacturers. In principle, replacing the income tax with a consumption tax, such as the flat tax, offers the possibility of improving the efficiency, equity, and simplicity of the tax system. But these gains are uncertain and depend critically on the details of the reform. At least some of the gains could be made simply by modifying the existing system. A. There are four categories in Traditional Business. Manufacturer - Wholesaler - Retailer - Consumer. The consumer buy the product for 100% each because you cannot buy 1product to the manufacturer because they want it by a bucks. Now, the manufacturer are the one who made the product and they give out 40% each to the wholesaler who get a bucks of products and they give out 30% each to the retailer who also get a bucks of products and give out 30% each. That is the reason why the consumer buy the product for a 100% each.

A. You are on the right track for a diversified portfolio. One way to cover all the areas is to expand to 9 index ETF's- xlb, xlp, xly, ixg, xlv, dia, xle, xlk, xlu. Start with 11% of your money in each of the 9 funds. Once each year, rebalance by selling shares in the one that went up the most, buy shares in the one that went down the most, getting back approximately to 11% in each. This strategy has beat the s&p 500 for the past 5 years.
