I KNOW, wrong catagory! so i have been doing cheerleading for half of my life, literally. i am 15 years old and last year was my 7th year of cheerleading. so anyways, this coming school year i was really looking forward to cheerleading again, but there arent going to be as many spots open on the school team as there were last year, AND you have be able to do a back handspring from standing and running. That is so hard for me to do! i have been doing tumbling for 2 years and still cant do it! so here is the problem. i kind of want to try other things besides cheerleading, like dance or cross country skiing. why do i feel guilty and like im abandoning cheerleading? all my friends tell me im going to make the team cause i am one of the… [cont.]

A. If you love getting up and cheering everyday, I say give it your all and still go out for the squad. If you feel like it's something that you've spent enough time with and that you just do it now because you have for so long, then I say try something new. Bottom line-if you love it and enjoy it, give the try outs a shot, otherwise, just be confident with your decision and try something new. There's nothing wrong with moving on to other things, you're not "abandoning" it. It's good to get as many experiences as you can. The most important thing is to be fully confident with what you decide to do, so that when you look back on cheering you smile at the memories, but also smile at the fact that you have moved on and are doing something… [cont.]
